About the Year Out Expo

“Year Out Expo” is taking place at ExCeL London from January 12-15, 2012. The event is dedicated to highlighting the benefits of taking a gap year or career break with a series of talks from experienced operators and industry experts. Exhibitors will include organisers of overseas volunteer placements, training courses and vocational internships as well as employers who recruit seasonal staff for worldwide resort jobs.

The Year Out Expo takes place alongside The Active Travel Show, The Outdoors Show, The London Bike Show and The Tullet Prebon London Boat Show . Tickets to the event will include admission to all 5 co-located events for no extra charge to give visitors a great day out at Britain’s largest indoor leisure and travel event.

Commenting on the trade launch of the event, 247 Media Managing Director Andrew Bird said: “We see this as a unique opportunity to showcase gap year providers and promote the benefits of a gap year or career break within an event that already attracts a combined audience in excess of 70,000 visitors. The concept of taking time out from an educational or vocational career has moved on considerably in recent years and this event will give the industry a chance to send out a positive message to potential travellers. Gap years and career breaks are no longer the exclusive preserve of pre-university students and there have never been so many opportunities to take part in well organised placements and courses operated by professional organisations all over the world.”
