The Rock at Reconciliation Place in Canberra

As the capital of Australia, Canberra should be a little more happening. But for the most part, I found it lacking. That’s not to say that it doesn’t have its sites. Naturally the Parliament is a must-visit destination. Once you are on the grounds, you will run into Reconciliation Place. The site symbolizes the struggle of modern Australian society to come to terms with its divided political history between Europeans and the Aborigines. On the large stone rocks has the following quote from the author Margaret Forte –

Aboriginal Dreaming sings to us of living in harmony with the land and with each other.

– and it’s the focus of this week’s Suh-Weet Shot.
