roman ruins in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, career break travela adventures in Spain

Hidden away, but worth the search. Copyright CareerBreakSecrets.com

For all of Barcelona’s famous sites above ground, it still houses a few secrets down below. One pleasant surprise were those old columns in the Museu d’Història de la Ciutat, City History Museum. The rough stone, chipped texture is set off (intentionally or not) by the slat, smooth teal green walls and bright lights illuminating the room. I was taken here by my friend, Noemí, a life-long Barcelona resident and who also works for the local government. I have always loved this photo from my travels in Spain and wanted to make it this week’s Suh-Weet Shot!

  1. I went to this museum but didn’t see this impressive part of it – perhaps they’ve painted the walls since I was there? (I guess it was five years ago). Lovely shot.

So much to see/do in Barca! Beautiful photo and folks, it’s stunning in person. Makes you feel rather small.

Thanks guys. Frankly, I wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for a friend of mine in Barcelona who took me there.

  5. I like the unexpected bright color in the background.

It is great place to have a tour in Barcelona. The pillars look so genuine. Your friend sure knows where to go for sight seeing.
